Junk or Treasure...

Whether it's junk or treasure is all a matter of perspective.  My stuff is treasure, my husband's stuff is junk.  However, my husband believes his is the good stuff and mine is not.  Somehow, between the two of us, our home is packed with valuables -- sentimental and familial, not sparkly and expensive.

If you were to catalog the origin of most of the household stuff our family owns, you would find a great majority of it has been previously owned, gently used, and lovingly passed down.  As to the rest of it, some items have been gifts.  Other items have been bought on purpose.  I take comfort in the fact that one day the darling daughters will have to split all of 'this' up between them.  I hope they marry into families with large, empty garages.

You, dear reader, are invited to go along for an adventure through closets, drawers, shelves, boxes, bags, and pockets.  Together, we will eyeball some of this family's best/worst junk/treasure.  It should be fun.  It might be startling.  It could be inspiring.  It may be embarrassing.  Who knows?  That's what makes it an adventure!

So let's get started...

Meet Yorick, my salt and pepper skull.  Uncle Dale, my mom's brother, is a shopper extraordinaire and is fully credited with this household addition.  I love it!  It appeals to my dual loves of seasoning and Shakespeare.  However, be assured that Yorick only helps in the kitchen when the time is right.  Otherwise, Santa and the Easter Bunny might never come back.

Another Mann's Treasure to be sure...
